In December 1928, Bhagat Singh and his partner Shivaram Rajuru shot a 21-year-old British police officer, John Saunders, in Lahore, British India, suspecting Saunders, who was still under surveillance, of the British police chief, James Scott  While leaving a police station on a motorbike, Saunders was hit by a single bullet fired by Rajuru, the shooter, from the other side of the street.  He was lying on the ground wounded, then shot multiple times by Singh, and the autopsy report showed eight bullet wounds.   Another colleague of Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, shot and killed an Indian policeman, Chanan Singh, who tried to track down Singh and Rajguru while they were on the run. After the escape, Singh and his companions publicly declared revenge for the death of Lajpat Rai, and put up ready-made posters that they modified to show Saunders as their intended target, and their names appeared under pseudonyms.  Singh was then on the run for several months, and no convictions resulted at the time.  Rising to the surface again in April 1929, he and another colleague, Batukeshwar Dutt, detonated two explosive devices inside the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi.  They showered leaflets from the balcony on lawmakers below, chanted slogans, and then allowed authorities to arrest them.  While awaiting trial, Singh gained a lot of public sympathy after he joined fellow defendant Jatin Das on a hunger strike, demanding better prison conditions for Indian prisoners, and the strike ended with Das's death from starvation in September 1929. Singh was convicted and hanged in March 1931, at his age 23. bhagat singh full name
Bhagat Singh became a folk hero after his death. and through him he became a symbol; the act was forgotten, the symbol remained, and within a few months, voices appeared.  Every town and village in Punjab, and to a lesser extent in the rest of North India, had its own name. Atheist and socialist in life, he drew admirers in India from among the political spectrum that included both communists and right-wing Hindu nationalists. Although many of Singh's comrades, in addition to many  Indian anti-colonial revolutionaries, too, took part in daring acts and were violently executed or dying, yet few of them earned the title of lion in folk arts and literature just as much as Singh.

Early life

Bhagat Singh was Sandhu Jat, [9] born in 1907  Kishan Singh and Vidyavati at Chak No. His birth coincided with the release of his father and uncle, Ajit Singh and Swaran Singh, from prison.  His family members were both Hindus and Sikhs.  Some were active in the Indian independence movements, while others served in the army of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. His ancestral village was Katkar Kalan, near the town of Banga, India in Nawanshahr District (now renamed Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar) in Punjab. His family was politically active. His grandfather, Arjun Singh, followed the Swami Dayananda Saraswati Hindu reform movement, Arya Samaj, which had a great influence on Bhagat..
His grandfather disagreed with the school officials' loyalty to the British government. It is enrolled instead in Dayanand Anglo Fidek High School, the Arya Samaji Foundation.Arya Samaj's philosophy influenced him greatly throughout his life.
When he was 14 years old, he was among the residents of his village who welcomed the protesters against the killing of a large number of defenseless people in Gurudwara Nankana Sahib on February 20, 1921.Singh was disappointed with Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence after he abolished the Non-Violence Movement.  Cooperat.  Gandhi's decision came on the heels of the violent killing of policemen by villagers who were responding to the police killing of three villagers in the Chora Chora incident in 1922. Singh joined the Revolutionary Youth Movement and began calling for the violent overthrow of the British government in India.
In 1923, Singh attended the National College in Lahore, where he also participated in extra-curricular activities such as the Drama Society.  In 1923, he won an essay competition held by Punjab Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, where he wrote about problems in Punjab.  Inspired by the Italian Young Movement led by Giuseppe Mazzini,he founded the Naujawan Bharat Sabha Indian Socialist Youth Organization in March 1926.A year later, to avoid an arranged marriage, Singh fled to Kaonpur.  He said in a message he left behind:
Idedicated my life to the noblest cause, the cause of the country's freedom.  Therefore, there is no worldly comfort or desire that can seduce me right now.
The police became concerned about Singh's influence on al-Shabab and arrested him in May 1927 under the pretext of his involvement in a bombing in Lahore in October 1926. He was released on a guarantee of Rs.  60 thousand five weeks after his arrest. He has written and edited the Urdu and Punjabi newspapers published in Amritsar and also contributed to the publication of inexpensive pamphlets published by the Naujawan Bharat Sabha newspaper that criticized the British.  He has also written for Kirti, the magazine of the Kirti Kisan ("Workers and Peasants' Party") and for a briefing for Veer Arjun newspaper published in Delhi. He often used pseudonyms, including names such as Balwant, Ranjit and Fedrohe. Revolutionary activities

The killing was condemned as a reactionary measure by Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of the conference, but Jawaharlal Nehru later wrote that:
Escape After killing Saunders, the group fled via D.A.V.  The college entrance is across the road from the district police headquarters.  Chanan Singh, the chief of police who was chasing after them, was mortally wounded by a fire that covered Chandrasekhar Azad, then fled on bicycles to pre-arranged safe houses.  The police launched a large-scale search operation to arrest them, blocking all entrances and exits to and from the city;  The Criminal Investigation Department monitors all youths leaving Lahore.  The fugitives hid for the next two days.  On December 19, 1928, Sukhdev sought help from Durgawati Devi, sometimes known as Durga Bhabhi, the wife of another HSRA member, Bhagwati Charan Vohra, whom she agreed to offer.  They decide to take the train departing from Lahore to Patinda on the way to Howrah (Calcutta) early the next morning. 1929 Assembly: accident and arrest

For a time, Singh had been using the power of drama as a way to inspire the revolt against the British, buying a magic lantern for slideshows that revived his conversations about revolutionaries such as Ram Prasad Bismill who died as a result of the Kakori plot.  In 1929, he proposed dramatic action to the HSRA aimed at obtaining widespread publicity for their goals.  Influenced by Auguste Vaillant, the French anarchist who bombed the House of Representatives in Paris, Singh's plan was to detonate a bomb inside the Central Legislative Assembly.  .  The nominal intention was to protest the draft Public Safety Law and the Commercial Dispute Law, which were rejected by the assembly but were enacted by the Viceroy using his own powers;  The actual intent was to allow the perpetrators to be arrested so that they could use the habeas corpus as a stage to publicize their case.
The HSRA leadership was initially opposed to Bhagat's involvement in the bombing because they were certain that his previous involvement in shooting the Saunders meant that his arrest would ultimately lead to his execution.  However, they finally decided that he was the most suitable candidate for them.  On April 8, 1929, Singh, accompanied by Batukeshwar Dutt, threw two bombs into the Assembly Hall from her public gallery while the session was taking place, and the bombs were designed not to kill, but some members, including George Ernst Schuster, a financial member of the Viceroy's Executive Board, were injured.  , And filled the smoke from the collective bombs so that Singh Widat would most likely have fled in a state of confusion if they so desired.  Instead, they kept chanting, "Enkilab Zendabad!"  ("Long live the revolution") and they threw out leaflets.  The two men were arrested and subsequently transported through a series of prisons in Delhi. Bhagat singh family
Singh, Rajjuru, and Sukhdev were sentenced to death in the Lahore conspiracy case and ordered to be hanged on March 24, 1931, the schedule was brought in by 11 hours and the three were hanged on March 23, 1931 at 7:30 pm in Lahore prison. Instead, an honorary judge supervised the execution, and also signed the three death warrants, as their original notes expired, then prison authorities broke a hole in the prison's back wall, removed the bodies, and secretly burned the bodies of the three men.  Under cover of darkness outside the village of Ganda Singh Wala, then dump the ash into the Sutlej River, about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from Ferozepore.
The Supreme Court described Singh's trial as “inconsistent with the basic principle of criminal jurisprudence” because the accused had no opportunity to defend himself.  The Special Court was a departure from the normal procedures approved for the trial and its decision can be appealed only to the Privy Council located in Britain, and the defendants were absent from the court and the judgment was issued unilaterally, and the decree presented by the Viceroy to form the Special Court was not approved before.  The Central Assembly or the British Parliament, and eventually fell without any legal or constitutional sanctity

Reception

Singh was criticized by his contemporaries, who?  Who are the people after his death?  Because of his violent and revolutionary stance towards the British, as well as his strong opposition to the peaceful stance taken by Gandhi and the Indian National Congress, the methods he used to convey his message, such as the shooting of Saunders, and the throwing of non-lethal bombs, have ceased.  In stark contrast to Gandhi's nonviolent methodology, however, Gandhi condemned the act of violence but still considered him a patriot and a great martyr.

  Popularity

Bhagat Singh has become the symbol of a new awakening among the youth," said Subhas Chandra Bose.  Nehru admitted that Bahjat Singh's popularity was leading to a new national awakening, saying, He was a clean fighter who faced his enemy in the open field ... It was like a spark that turned into a torch in a short time and spread from one end of the country to the other dispel the darkness prevailing in the country.  everywhere ".  [23] Four years after Singh was hanged, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Sir Horace Williamson, wrote: “His picture was for sale in every city and town, and for a period of time it competed in popularity even with Mr. Gandhi himself.
